The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts

A Proud Supporter of the LDEI Legacy Awards

The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts generously supports the LDEI Legacy Awards. "Year after year, the Foundation finds it very gratifying to see how much all the participants get out of this worthwhile program," said Executive Director Todd Schulkin. "Being a mentor came naturally to Julia, and it's wonderful that through our support of LDEI's Legacy Awards, we can continue to help foster that essential professional value."

During her lifetime, Julia received the honorary title of Grande Dame, given in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to the fields of food, wine and other fine beverages, nutrition, and the arts of the table. The Foundation is proud to support LDEI's Legacy Awards in which veteran members mentor other professional women in the culinary industries.

The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts Foundation was created by Julia in 1995 and became operational in 2004. Headquartered in Santa Barbara, California, the Foundation is a nonprofit which offers grants to support research in culinary history, scholarships for professional culinary training, and internships in food writing as well as professional development and food literacy programs.

Over the last decade, the Foundation has provided more than $1.25 million in grants to other nonprofits. juliachildfoundation.org
